Director: Tom Bradford:
president@charlestonmoves.org
After a more than 25-year career in broadcast
news with CBS, Tom is a communications consultant
with his own company. A lifelong cycling enthusiast,
Tom has maintained an interest in the connection
between cycling and walking with good community
planning. He is a member of the League of American
Bicyclists, The Century Road Club Association,
Rails-to-Trails and the East Coast Greenway Alliance.
Additionally, he is a member of the Advisory Board
for the Halsey Institute and a member of The Gibbes
Museum of Art.

Chair: Stephanie Hunt

Stephanie is a leader and organizer for
Charleston Moves. She is also a great writer
and works freelance as well as doing excellent
work with Roper St.Francis

Vice-Chair: Chris Tullmann
Chris has a background in civil engineering
working up and down the east coast for 12
years. Chris has helped with the agency
coordination and design review of local
projects. He has been riding on the roads
and in the woods for most of his life. Chris
is working on mountain bike trails and paths
as well as linking up places around the
charleston area with paved connections.
He is a member of IMBA and SORBA, Rails-to-trails
and Rails-with-trails.

Secretary: Allen Hudson
Allen is an avid road cyclist who has been
working on Charleston Moves events and electronic
media.

Nico has been a huge help keeping Charleston
Moves up to date with all our finances as
we continue to expand our network.

At Large: Stephen Zoukis
Stephen is another life long cyclist and
long time resident in the Charleston area.
Stephen has been instrumental in helping
Charleston Moves renew and step up to higher
levels of success and efficency.
|
|
|
At large: Don Sparks
Don is a past president of Charleston Moves.
He is a member of the CHATS Standing Bicycle
and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (the Charleston
MPO's transportation planning arm). He
is an avid cyclist, having ridden cross
country with his wife Katherine on their
tandem in 1993. In addition, he
has cycled extensively in other parts of
the world. Currently, Don is Professor
of International Economics at the Citadel,
and has served on the academic board of
directors of the University of South Carolina
’s Center for Environmental Policy.
He is Vice President of the League
of American Bicyclists (and is a life member),
is a life member of Adventure Cyclists;
a member of the (Charleston) Coastal Cyclists,
Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals,
and Congress for the New Urbanism.

Cathy Nixon: Cathy Nixon was
born in NYC, where she attended Pratt Institute
and Bennett College and received her degree in
Design. Since moving to the Charleston area she
has been a business owner, co-managed the World
Cup of Golf and the Fed Cup for the US Tennis
Association at Kiawah Island Resort. She has been
active in the SC Aquarium and the Charleston Symphony
OrchestraLeague. She currently serves on the Sustainer
Board with The Junior League of Charleston.
Cathy received Charleston Metro Sports Council
achievement award (2007) as Sports Ambassador
of the Year. In 2007 she completed Paris-Brest-Paris
and was the recipient of the silver, bronze
for team U.S.A. at the International World Dragon
Boat Championships in Sydney, Australia.
Cathy is passionate about healthy choices
and the benefit of physical fitness and good
nutrition. She applauds livable and eco-friendly
cities, towns and communities that create
alternative modes of transportation which
help promote healthy lifestyles.

Vince Graham: Vince
is Founder and President of the I'On Group
based in Charleston, South Carolina. Vince
moved to the South Carolina Lowcountry in
1989. He founded the traditional walking
neighborhood of Newpoint in 1991. Since
that time he has participated in building
seven other neighborhoods including the
Village of Port Royal, Broad Street, I'On,
Morris Square, Hammonds Ferry, and Mixson
in South Carolina; and East Beach in Virginia.
Vince serves on the Board of Charleston
Moves, the Coastal Conservation League,
East Cooper Planning Council, Lowcountry
Housing Trust, Riley Institute for Urban
Affairs, and Upstate Forever. He also serves
on the Metropolitan Leadership Council of
the Brookings Institution, is a South Carolina
Liberty Fellow, and a member of the Church
of the Holy Cross. Vince is a passionate
advocate for advancing human-scaled urbanism,
and has spoken at architectural and planning
symposiums in Australia, Europe, and throughout
the United States. A native of Atlanta,
Georgia, Vince is a 1986 graduate of Thomas
Jefferson's wondrous University of Virginia.

Zoey Cole: Zoey
works with Blackbaud and has helped Charleston
Moves organize the membership and database
systems to help us spread the word and track
our volunteer offers as we grow in size
and scope..

Terry Day, MD: Terry
is an avid cyclists, and excellent doctor
with MUSC.
|
|
|
Sandra Fowle, MD: Another
great doctor with MUSC, avid cyclists, community
leader, and incredible resource to all things
Charleston Moves.
|
|
|
Ben Gruber: Ben is the
owner of the Trek Store in Mt Pleasant.
Ben orgnizes and runs many events on the
pavement and the dirt for all things cycling.

Charles Fox: Charles
works in retail and sales at Fox music, a family
business. Charles is a member of the League
of American Bicyclists, Transportation Alternatives,
and a number of regional Cycling Clubs. He
is a lifetime member of the Palmetto Cycling Coalition
and has served on their board. He had been
ride director for the Rural Ride Round the Islands
and most Festivelo de Charleston , South Carolina
's largest cycling event in December 2004, and
most recently for Charleston Cycle Fest 2005.
Charles has cycled across the U.S. and has served
as a past president for the Coastal Cyclists.
He currently serves on the board of First
Night Charleston, Creative Sparks, and the Coastal
Cyclists.

Tom Mather, MD: Tom
has stepped up to help direct Charleston
Moves into this next decade of work..
|
|
|
Pat Sullivan: Pat worked
with IBM in sales and marketing before coming
to Charleston. She is now our marketing
guru helping coordinate all things Charleston
Moves between the committees and across
the community. She is always stepping up
to help out all of us.
|
|
|
Kristin Walker: Kristin
works with Dunes Properties, runs Cycle
Chic, coordinates events and social media,
as well as the Charleston Bike calendar.
Kristin has been an invaluable resource
for keeping Charleston Moves current on
the latest events, and looking good on her
bike while doing it.
|
|
|
Tim Walter: Tim is another
one that has stepped up to help direct Charleston
Moves into this next decade of work, taking
on the extra task of building our resources
to make the Charleston Area friendly to
all modes of transportation - especially
the desparately needed bicycle and pedestrian
safe access around the lowcountry.

Jeff Davis: William J. Davis
is an associate professor in Civil &
Environmental Engineering at The Citadel.
He is a profession engineer with twenty-five
years of experience in the planning, development
and design of transportation engineering
projects. His technical and service activities
have included serving on numerous national
committees focusing on a variety of bicycle,
pedestrian and traffic calming issues. His
research and consulting projects include
development of transportation master plans,
bicycle facility design and creation of
built environments to support active living
by design.
Other professional experience has focused
in the areas of traffic engineering, transportation
planning, highway design, environmental
assessment and infrastructure design.

Tiffiny Norton: Tiffany
is a graduate student at the College of
Charleston. She has been working on an econimic
impact of the Battery 2 Beach route for
Charelston Moves. She is doing a Great job
showing everyone what is possible.
